METRO Expands curb2curb Service to Sunnyside and Kashmere Communities

Getting around just got a whole lot easier for Sunnyside and Kashmere residents. METRO's new curb2curb service is exactly what it sounds like — a ride when you need it, where you need it.

Think of it as your neighborhood's personal transit service. Unlike traditional bus routes that stick to a fixed path, curb2curb operates within a designated zone, perfect for areas where the nearest bus stop might be just a bit too far to walk. It also complements bus and rail service by connecting riders in the area to the broader METRO network.

"Our focus is to improve the customer experience and meet customers where they are," says Michael Andrade, vice president of specialized transit services.

The 329 Sunnyside service runs daily from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., costing just $1.25 per ride.

Over in Kashmere, the new 377 Kashmere / Maxey Road service replaces the original late-night route, offering longer hours from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. and seamless connections to local bus routes.

"Access to transit is one of the major challenges we are working to address," said Board Chair Elizabeth Gonzalez Brock. "The expanded service is part of our larger plan to advance equitable and reliable mobility options that connect people to jobs, school, and other essential services."

The new routes launched ahead of METRO’s most recent service change on Jan. 26. With ridership on the rise, the new curb2curb routes and adjusted schedules provide more frequency and options for customers.

Need a ride? Simply schedule pickups through the curb2curb app or by calling 713-739-RIDE (7433).
