Important Employee Notes!

YMCA and Lifetime Gym

3 min read

Exercising Your Discounts

We all know health is everything. That’s part of the reason METRO is offering financial incentives for fitness.

METRO will cover a big part of the cost for employees who join either the YMCA or Lifetime Fitness which just became part of the subsidy program.

METRO reimburses you $50 for both the Y and Lifetime – however, Lifetime matches that for a total of $100 off there.

You’ll be charged upfront but get reimbursed in your paycheck if you go at least 12 days a month.

YMCA members will need to get a printout of their visit log from the Y and provide it to METRO’s Wellness division. Lifetime Fitness members will have their logs automatically sent in by the gym.

Email wellness@ridemetro.org with questions.

Human Resources Department Hits the Road

Human Resources

From October through January, all six Human Resources divisions will have representatives on-site at a different facility on most Wednesdays.

This includes Compensation, Labor Relations, Staffing (Initiatives & Outreach), EEO, Employee Relations and ADA Compliance, Benefits, Pension, Wellness and HIRIS and Organization Development.

The visits start October 18.

This is HR’s way of “meeting you where you are.” It will give employees a chance to speak with people many have only had contact with through email or over the phone.

Take a look at the chart below to see when you’ll have a chance to ask questions or air concerns in-person. Days and times are subject to change.

Employee Health Fairs Are a Hit

METRO Health Fair

Employees had a chance to attend virtual and in-person health fairs at 1900 Main and at other METRO facilities.

These were the first in-person health fairs held since the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Employees were excited to get health and wellness information, along with goodies from a number of vendors and METRO.

At the administration building, employees visited booths on the first floor, in the second floor lobby, on the sixth floor, and in the board room.

METRO Director of Benefits, Pension, Wellness and HRIS spoke with Inside Track about the health fairs.

If you missed the event at 1900 Main – view the video below to see highlights and a special “thank you” message.

A New Learning Management System Is Coming

METRO is launching a new learning management system (LMS) in November that is part of SuccessFactors.

It will contain an exciting library of new e-learning content, courses, videos, and other elements. Learning histories will be transferred over.

Access will be through the METRO Intranet Home page under the Employee Tools and Useful Links sections.

If you don’t already have a SuccessFactors login, you’ll have an opportunity to create one starting the week of October 23. It will be required in order to take mandatory training, so this is especially important for front-line employees.

Don’t worry, supervisors and other leaders at facilities will be there to help you.

For those who don’t have an active METRO email account, they’ll help get that set up as well.

The goal of the new LMS is to help make the educational journey at METRO more fulfilling.

Congratulations to the 2022 Safety Award Winners

METRO Safety

Operators and many other METRO employees perform their jobs in an environment where accidents and injuries can occur at a higher rate than in a typical office environment.

METRO recognizes this, provides training to minimize the risk, and rewards employees with outstanding safety records who have no accidents or claims.

Recognition is made at 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45-year marks.
