Robert Bartlett (Fallbrook): 7 years of service

Bus Operator Robert Bartlett has an outstanding work ethic and managers say he constantly demonstrates strong dedication to his responsibilities and a profound sense of accountability. Mr. Bartlett is an exceptional employee who excels in his job while assisting others in any way possible.

 

Leroy Turner Jr. (Hiram Clarke): 28 years of service 

Bus Operator Leroy Turner Jr. has a great work record. He participates in Adopt-a-School fundraising and has mentored several young men along his route, becoming a constant source of wisdom and encouragement in their lives. The impact is evident when they return to the route to visit and share their achievements with him.

 

Mack Taylor (West): 5 years of service

Bus Operator Mack Taylor is a true professional who is friendly, knowledgeable, and seldom seen without his camera. He enjoys photographing people, nature, and anything that captures his interest. He is widely recognized throughout the authority and has taken many, many photos of METRO employees on the job that have been shared both internally and externally.

 

Trent Brown (Polk): 6 years of service

Bus Operator Trent Brown is a fantastic employee with a great work ethic. His quiet and humble personality has earned him recognition for his good deeds and Polk is proud to honor his contributions to METRO. He is truly committed to delivering excellent customer service.

 

Rail Line Instructor

 

Blair Ross: 4 Years of service (ROC)

METRO is proud to honor Blair Ross as Rail Line Instructor of the Month for November. Mr. Ross says he loves to continue learning every day and that he’s able to share his knowledge with others, but what he likes most about his job is meeting new people. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Evelyn Creeks (Kashmere): 25 years of service, Transit Technician

Evelyn Creeks consistently works to improve METRO’s bus fleet. Ms. Creeks believes the best thing about her career is camaraderie with co-workers. , “I love people,” she says.

 

Roberto Hernandez (Fallbrook): 11 years of service, Transit Bus Repair A

Roberto Hernandez produces quality work and demonstrates creative problem-solving and dedication to his job. He proudly says he enjoys embracing and understanding new technology and sharing his knowledge with colleagues. Away from work, he stays as active as possible. The single father says he and his teenage daughter enjoy auto racing, boxing, working out at the gym and rock climbing.

 

Haile Hirut (Hiram Clarke): 15 years of service, Cleaner – Bus Maintenance

Haile Hirut is an exceptional employee who is self-motivated and always willing to assist however and whenever needed.  Ms. Hirut says she loves her job because being clean and orderly brings peace. That extends to her personal life. She enjoys cleaning house and preparing homecooked meals for her family.

 

Ivan Alanis (Polk): 1 Year of Service, Transit Bus Repair A 

Ivan Alanis works on multiple projects and completes them with little to no supervision. He is inquisitive and is always asking questions about procedures and constantly trying to gain knowledge in his field.

 

Ali Al-Rifai (West): 7 Years of Service, Collision Repair A

Ali Al-Rifai is is knowledgeable and an excellent employee. He also demonstrates exceptional communications skills.

 

Adrian Dugas (Central Shops): 34 Years of Service, Unit Rebuild A

Adrian Dugas always goes above and beyond. He takes pride in his work and his vast experience is an asset to METRO. Mr. Dugas is grateful for his METRO career. He says it has paved the way for his family and allowed him to put his daughters through college. He and his family enjoy taking cruises all over the world.

 

Benito Gonzalez Jr. (Electronic Maintenance): 30 Years of Service, Transit Bus Revenue Technician 

Managers say Benito Gonzalez Jr. is a true professional who consistently produces quality work, is efficient, and fast. He averages repairing five buses every day and always has a great attitude.

 

James Whaley (Support Vehicles): 46 Years of Service, T Truck Wrecker Operator                

James Whaley has been an outstanding employee for nearly five decades! He builds constructive working relationships with a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect. When asked what his hobbies are he said, “Absolutely nothing. For many years I raised and rode horses. Nowadays, I just spend time at home with family.”

 

Felipe Torres (Operating Facilities): 1.5 Years of Service, General Mechanic HVAC

Felipe Torres has outstanding leadership skills, communicates effectively, and completes his work on time. He is a team player who is always ready to lend a hand to others.
