METRO’s July Fourth
Holiday Schedule
In observance of Independence Day (July 4th), METRO will operate on the following schedule:
Buses and METRORail will run on a regular schedule on Thursday, July 3, and a Sunday schedule on Friday, July 4, 2008.
There will be no Park & Ride service on July 4.
All HOV lanes will be open, operating inbound from 5 - 11 a.m. and outbound from
2 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 3. On Friday, July 4, all HOV lanes will be closed except the Katy HOV lane which will open outbound from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
METROLift’s Reservations and Customer Service offices will be closed Friday, July 4. If you need to ride Saturday, July 5, Sunday, July 6 or Monday, July 7, you must schedule a trip by calling reservations at 713-225-6716 between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Thursday, July 3 or by using MACS (METROLift Automated Call System) between 5 a.m. – 5 p.m. the day before you need to travel.
To use MACS, simply call 713-225-6716 and follow the menu. When using MACS, you will need your client ID and password. Please begin using MACS on your next call to METROLift.
All METRO RideStores and Lost & Found will be closed on Friday, July 4.
METRO’s Customer Information Center will be open Friday, July 4, from 8 a.m. to
8 p.m. and can be contacted through METROLine at 713-635-4000 or 713-635-6993 (TDD).
Horario De METRO Para El Cuatro De Julio
En cumplimiento con la celebración del Día de la Independencia (4 de julio), METRO dará servicio conforme a la programación siguiente:
Los autobuses y el tren ligero, o METRORail, funcionarán conforme a su horario normal el jueves 3 de julio, y operará con el horario de los domingos, el viernes 4 de julio de 2008.
No habrá servicio de Park & Ride el 4 de julio.
El jueves 3 de julio, todos los carriles HOV permanecerán abiertos, funcionando en el sentido hacia el centro, de las 5:00 a.m. a las 11:00 a.m., y en dirección contraria de las 2:00 p.m. a las 8:00 p.m. El viernes 4 de julio, permanecerán cerrados todos los carriles HOV, excepto el carril HOV de Katy, el cual tendrá circulación del centro hacia fuera, de las 5:00 a.m. a las 8:00 p.m.
Las oficinas de Reservaciones de METROLift y de Atención al Cliente permanecerán cerradas el viernes 4 de julio. Si usted necesita viajar el sábado 5 de julio, el domingo

Bus Stop Closure for 50 Harrisburg
Construction on the East End Corridor light-rail line is underway!
- Effective Monday, July 7, the Everton stop on the 50 Harrisburg will be closed for approximately 30 days.
- Please use the York stop just two blocks west.
- The service will continue from York uninterrupted.
- Trip times may be affected.
We will keep you informed with construction updates as progress is made. Thank you for your patience as we work to keep Houston going places.

On Friday July 4, 2008 between 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. there will be a parade starting at Eleanor and Irvington. South on Irvington to Joyce, U-turn at Joyce on Irvington to Northbound on Irvington, to end at Woodard and Irvington.
78 Irvington Southbound – via Irvington, (Right) Kelly (1st street pass 610 overpass), Left Helmer, (Left) Gale, (Right) Irvington to regular route.

Run Wild Sports Inc. 5k Fun Run / Walk & 1k Kids Run

The following streets or portions of streets will be used for the fun run; Post Oak, Post Oak Ln, Cedar Creek, Sage, Longmont, Whyndem North and South, and Uptown Park Blvd.

Chevy’s Freedom Over Texas
On Friday July 4th, 2008 Allen Parkway will be blocked off east and westbound for the 4th of July celebration (all day). The following routes will be detoured due to heavy traffic around the immediate area of the Allen Parkway entrance at Bagby/Lamar:
6 Jensen Southbound – via Lamar right Louisiana left Prairie right Bagby right Preston to Smith (Layover).
6 Jensen Northbound – via Bagby right Smith left Dallas to regular route.
36 Lawndale Westbound – via Lamar left Smith left Dallas (Layover Dallas/Smith).
36 Lawndale Eastbound – via Dallas at Smith to regular route.
40 Pecore Westbound – via Lamar right Louisiana left Capitol to Rusk to regular route.
40 Telephone Eastbound – via Bagby left McKinney right Smith left Dallas to regular route.
50 Heights Westbound – via Lamar right Louisiana left Capitol onto Memorial to regular route.
50 Harrisburg Eastbound – via Memorial to Rusk right Smith left Dallas to regular route.

26 OUTER LOOP – Starting at Holcombe and Pressler, continue Holcombe, Right Fannin, enter T.M.C. transit center to regular route.
27 INNER LOOP Clockwise – Starting at Lockwood and I-10 East service rd., left turn I-10 East service rd., Exit Kress / Lathrop, right turn Lathrop to regular route.
36 LAWNDALE Westbound – Via Dumble, left Park, right Lockwood, left McKinney to regular route.
42 HOLMAN Westbound – Via Polk, left Dumble, right Telephone, left Ernestine, to regular route.
