STUDENTS

Middle and high school students may pay the discounted fare in cash (on the bus only) by showing their student ID card. Elementary school students may pay the discounted fare in cash (on the bus only) without showing an ID.
NOTE: If you pay with cash, you will not receive a free transfer.

Must be able to provide the following:

K-12 (mail-in form available below, or visit the METRO RideStore)

  - Complete Ride Smart Student METRO Q® Fare Card Registration Form signed by parent or guardian.
- If appear in person:
  - Provide one of the following: Current school ID, class schedule, enrollment form or report card (on school letterhead)
  - Contact information (mailing address, phone number, or email address)
COLLEGE (mail-in form available below, or visit the METRO RideStore)

- If mail-in:
  - Complete Ride Smart Student METRO Q® Fare Card Registration Form signed and stamped by registrar.
- If appear in person:
  - Must show credit hours to qualify (one of the following):
    - fee receipt with a current class schedule
    - letter from the college verifying (current) full time status
    - Student METRO Q Fare Card registration form signed and stamped by school registrar
  - Government Issued Photo ID - required
  - Qualified full time status:
    - Undergraduate – 9+ hours
    - Graduate – 9+ hours

SENIORS And Medicare Cardholders

Must present a government-issued ID with date of birth

Seniors, 65-69, and Medicare cardholders get a 50 percent discount.
Seniors 70+ ride free.

DISABLED

In order to receive your discounted card, you must come to the METRO RideStore. To process your METRO Disabled Discount METRO Q® Fare Card, bring a government-issued ID with date of birth (state ID, driver's license, Veteran's ID or passport), plus one of the following:

Doctor’s statement of disability on physician’s letterhead, stating the patient’s name and a brief description of the disability. If it is permanent or if temporary, how long?
You may qualify if your disability is visible. i.e. - missing limbs, palsies etc., which directly affects mobility.
Verification of your Medicare benefits, not Medicaid.

NOTE: The Social Security Award letter is not acceptable for verification unless the actual disability is noted or Medicare benefits are listed.

Jurors

METRO provides a complimentary one-way bus/rail trip for anyone going to jury duty on the original date of their summons. Prospective jurors who are not selected for jury duty may ask the court for a METRO jury pass for their trip home. The pass will be date stamped (valid through the same day) and should be shown to the bus operator upon boarding. If riding the rail, keep the pass available to present when requested.

If selected for juror duty, ask the court for a jury pass. This pass should be stamped with a “valid through” date.

Be aware that both passes look the same, but the date stamped on them is what makes the pass valid.
